Hey, long time no post! I know, I'm terrible about my blog, but I'm going to try to improve. Anyway, I just want a quick place to plop my contest entry for the Farmers Market Poster. Here it is, in all it's glory! :P

Hello - just got back from Maui this week - it was fantastic!! I have to put some work together to show to a professional illustrator so she can give me some tips, and I'm really excited! Here's some sketches I did of folks at the airport in Maui... our flight was delayed 3 hours :P so we got home pretty late, but thanks to all the siestas we took in the heat of the day on vacation, we had enough reserve sleep to make it through work the next day. :D

Puppies! I decided to sketch some random pics from the internet in my new sketchbook. I typed in "love" into Google Images and the picture of the dog with the kitten came up. Then I just typed "puppy" after that. My mom said it's just a puppy kind of day. :3

UPDATE

Ok, revamp time! I'm getting back into the swing of things, and I'm going to go for my illustration/concept art goals, so let's start with some studies from internet photo refs. (The first is from refs some folks at CA posted from 3D modeling creations they made for value practice - thanks guys!)

Abby Again

Well, the writing pretty much says it - Abby is just too cute. Basically I'm just testing out my watercolor moleskine with my travel palette and waterbrushes. Also used Micron pens - getting used to the tools before I hit the field.

Mid-June

So I got a new pen case a while ago - it's super cute, so I took a picture of it next to Abby :) It's really convenient to carry my sketching stuff, and somewhat discreet so I don't have drawing pens all over my desk at work :P

I'm also working on a zine with Ethel - Here's a sample page of one of my comics. The "Martha" character isn't based on someone I actually work with, there are no Martha's in my office - she's more of a combination of several people I've worked with at various jobs I guess.

A character design I was working on for a few days - those first few sketches I did at work while on hold on the phone, then I did a more detailed sketch, scanned it in and colored it.
